Birhtday and Indiana

Wow, I don't even know where to start!! We have had a busy last two weeks! First of all, Copeland turned 2!! I can't believe it. We had a party for him here at our house, and then we had a party for him while we were in Indiana with a few friends and family.
The party out here was great. He had all of his little friends over and they played outside and we rented a bouncy castle!! (that's the thing to do, and about the only thing to do out here). All of the kiddos enjoyed bouncing. We had it for two days so Cope got to enjoy it the next day too. Even myself, Beau, my brother and my mom got in to try it out :)

Cope and I went home with my mom and brother so we could be home for more then just 3 days, and Beau joined us on thursday night. On monday -Cope's actual bday- we went to walmart got a birthday doughnut and balloon, went to the park to play, and then got mason's and ate lunch with my mom at ACC. It was a great day. We also had the privalige of going to play group on Wednesday! Thank you girls for letting us get a glimpse of what we will get to enjoy when we move back home!! Cope had a little fit, but all in all it was a good time. (we now know the fit was partly to do with teeth!) The rest of the week we just enjoyed spending time with family. my sister and bro-in-law were home from FL too.
We started a little project at my parents house. All of us kids, and dad, made a little sitting area for my mom in the back yard. She has wanted this forever!! So we did most of the work, all that is left to do is landscaping.
Saturday we had a phot shoot with Leah R. I just have to say, she did a WONDERFUL job!! Cope was not feeling so well (running a fever, also from teeth) so we had to cut it short, but with the very limited opportunities Leah had, she got some wonderful pictures! (She posted a few on her blog) Then saturday ngiht we had a party for Cope at Fatboys... It was also cut short due to Cope not feeling well. He was still running a little bit of a fever, and lets just say we changed his diaper FOUR times while we were there. I finally just took him home, gave him some meds and a banana and we just rested. He is feeling much better now though! Back to his ol' wild and crazy self! :)
We also went to look at a couple of houses since we are moving back to IN in 5 months!! I'll keep you all updated on the house hunt!

Here are some pics.... Hope everyone is having a great week!!

I almost forgot, we had my brothers graduation party also! He graduated from IU with a degree in accounting and finance! We are soo proud of him. I didn't get very many pictures of the party :(

My Husband

A fellow blogger, Jessie shared and bragged on her husband and asked the rest of us to do the same! This is such a great idea because I know I don't praise my man enough!

First of all I have to say how proud of him I am that he is serving our country! He is one great (and HOT) soldier!! :) I never get tired of seeing him in his uniform!!! He as served for almost 6 years and was in Iraq for 5 months. He also "serves" in the nursery! This will be the second summer that we have volunteered in the nursery at our church. I love it because there aren't a whole lot of guys who are willing to help in the nursery!

He is a wonderful father. He loves Copeland with all his heart and it shows. He gives baths, reads, plays outside, and puts Cope to bed (and so much more). I know there are days when he gets home from work and he's tired, but he always gives in to his little buddy. He melts like butter when it comes to Cope. Every time we go to Wal-Mart HE is the one who wants to get Copeland a toy. He says he just wants him to have stuff to play with! :) How cute is that?!

He is a wonderful husband. Words cannot even express how much I love him and how thankful I am for him. Sometimes I think he doesn't get me and he's not supportive, but then I know he is as much as he knows how to be and that is all I need. We have had a rough 3 months and he has been my shoulder to cry on, my person to vent to, and my strength. He cleans the house, bless his heart he tries and wants to cook (we are working on that one), he does all the yard work, and he always lets me go out by myself or to the movies with a friend if I need a break!

I'm sure I left out so much out, but I sure do love him! :)

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY COPELAND!!!!
Mommy loves you so much and you are such a blessing!!!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

First, I just want to say happy mother's day to all you mommies!!
Beau has done a great job making this day special (it's only 8:30) but copeland brought me my card and beau brought me a cup of coffee and we have a wonderful day ahead of us. We are going to church, then to eat, then to walmart to get my gift (i've wanted 8 lb. weights forever so he's getting me some). Then tonight we are having friends Tyler and Kerri and their little girl Livi over for homemade pizza tonight.

Yesterday was a good day but a hard day. It was 3 months ago yesterday that I miscarried. Although yesterday was the 3 month mark, friday was a really rough day! I don't know why it was so hard for me but I broke down. I guess because I thought I would be pregnant by now and I'm not. So to help keep my mind off things yesterday, we went to Nebraska Furniture mart in Kansas City, Kansas... yes we drove to Kansas. It's only about and hour and a half from here. We bought a new dining table!!! It was such a great deal we couldn't pass it up. It will be here next Sat. so I'll get pics as soon as I can!! Then we went to Cabela's (beau's fave!) and walked around and looked at all the animals and ate lunch in the cafe there. By the time we got home it was about 3 so we played outside all afternoon and then I went for a walk while Beau gave Cope a bath. I just cranked up my praise music and prayed for peace and patience!! I know everything will work out. I just have to remind myself daily to be still and know that HE is God and HE is in control!!! (it's a little easier said than done though).
Anyway, we have a busy week ahead of us... we are getting ready for a yardsale, Copeland's party, my mom and brother are coming out, and then Cope and I are coming home with them! I can't wait!!
Here are a few pics of his "big boy" things!
Have a great week!!

Bedtime Update....

NOT GOING SO WELL!! It is 1 day shy of a week that we have been struggling with Copey and his bedtime. Tonight has been the best night in the last week... and it still wasn't easy. To make a very long story short, Copeland was still in a crib, and friday night we knew we had to get him out of that crib and into a toddler bed! We had a really rough night friday night and saturday night.

Friday - normal bedtime routine.... except I sat by his bedside for an hour and 45 min. Finally I told him I was going to my bed and he was to stay in his crib. I left, shut the door with him screaming and I hadn't been in my room for 5 min. and we could tell the crying was getting louder... he was standing at his door. So we go in there, calm him down, put him back in his crib and and I shut the door but left a little crack so I could peek in on him. What I saw was a shocker. He basically falls out of his crib! He gets one leg over and then just rolls!! At that moment, my heart quit beating. As I see my little baby plop on the floor I run in there and ask if he's ok. So we decided that night that he would sleep with us and we would immediately convert his crib into a bed. No more climbing/falling out of his crib!

Saturday-(I'm not doing very well keeping this short, oops) ok, so we convert his bed and that night I sat in there with him for an hour before he finally fell asleep. Well around 1:00 we wake up to screaming. Beau gets up and goes in there to calm him down and sit with him. After about 45 min. he's asleep - or so we thought. About 15 min after Beau comes back to bed we hear little feet running into our room. So I go back in there and sit with him for another hour and the little stinker is still not asleep!!! Finally I talk to him and tell him that there is nothing to be afraid of and that Jesus is with him and to just talk to Jesus. He starts asking where Oliver is at. OLIVER- why hadn't I thought of him before!? So I put Oliver in his room with him and it worked! For a little anyway (by this time it was almost 3:30). Cope stayed in his bed and slept till 7!! I have been praying and praying - I really don't know what else to do, and while I was laying in bed last night, I felt that God was telling me to "be patient, be consistent". I just kept saying that over and over in my head. I think the Lord is trying to work on me and teach me patience.

So tonight, Beau put him in his bed, I read him a book and prayed with him, held his hand for about 5 min, talked to him to keep him calm (he started to get a little worked up) and brought in OLIVER. So far so good. It has been 45 min. and he hasn't made a peep or came out of his room. PTL!! I just hope this continue to work.
I hope this story isn't to boring or crazy.... I not only wanted to give an update, but record it for my own memories sake.
I'll keep you all updated and try to get pics soon of him in his bed. He loves it during the day! :)
I love him so much my heart just swells! When I think about him, I can't help but smile. Even though I get frustrated, my love for him is unconditional. (I think God is also saying "sound familiar?")
