quick update

I just wanted to give a quick update on what's going on for us.... First of all, I am at the library (haven't been to a library to use the computers since I don't know when ha ha) because our computer screen is acting up. I'm praying we can just get through the next two weeks, and then we will be at my parent's house and can use their computer and get ours fixed! So anyway, Beau's surgery went well. He was in a lot of pain for at least a week, but he is starting to feel a little more normal and the swelling is going down quite a bit. I'm just glad it's done and over with... it was pretty bad and I hope we never have to experience that again, or anyone for that matter!
As I said above, we will be home soon. A week and a half for Cope and I, then Beau comes later that week. We have been getting the house ready to pack and going through closets and drawers and getting rid of some stuff we do not want to drag home with us. It's crazy but a little refreshing at the same time. Beau has two interviews set up for when he gets home. Please start praying for those, and that he can make the right decision and what is best for our family.
We are kinda laying low on the house hunt. We have decided to just sit tight at least through the holidays at my parents, and then the first of the year we will be on the prowl! So if anyone knows of any houses coming up for sale, let me know! :)
I have a little less than 6 weeks of school left and I will officially be done! I cannot wait. It is getting a little stressful and overwhelming right now, but I know it will all be worth it in the end.
That's another reason I have not been on here much. Once school is done I will feel like I have a little more free time!
Well untill next time... I'll probably be writing from Indiana!!

The life of the Gish's....

DOCTORS!
It feels like we are ALWAYS going to the doctor for something... this time it's Beau - again. As he is preparing to get out of the Air Force, he had to do a final physical. The doctor noticed he is stopped up and wanted to check it out. Well he has a major deviated septum and chronic sinusitis. Surgery number two for the year of 09 is scheduled! He will go in Oct. 20. The doc said it's a pretty painful surgery and he will be off work for two weeks! Please keep us in your prayers as we get ready for this crazy time. Not only will he be going through surgery, but we will be trying to get things squared away for our move! I know the Lord never gives us more than we can handle, but our plate seems quite full right now!

On another note, last night Copeland feel asleep in bed with me (this does not happen often) and I just love having him sleep in my arms. I could watch him sleep all night! But when I carried him to bed, I realized how BIG he is!! I have to admit I cried a little bit because he barely fit in my arms!! I'm glad he's growing and he's healthy, but at the same time, he is growing so fast! He has really stretched out the last couple months. Beau is going to measure him tonight to see just how tall he is! I kept telling myself how blessed I am to have such a perfect little wild boy; my cup runneth over!

The last month, or so

Just a little update and some pictures. It's been so long since I have posted I feel like I'm starting all over! I keep saying I'll do better, but honestly, I just don't ever sit down and take the time to type. I feel like I am on the computer all the time for homework, and don't feel like being on here any more than I have too... I still like to read others' blogs, but I don't feel like I have anything worth sharing or interesting right now! It's pretty much the same thing around here. We are getting ready to move home so I will keep everyone updated on the move. Copeland and I will be coming on the 15th of November, and Beau will join us on the 20th! We have not found a house yet so I guess we will be living with my parents. Copeland will love that, but it will be weird living with them again. It's ok for a visit, but for a long visit?? We shall see! :)
Here are a few pics, Enjoy!

a much needed update... royals game, state fair, and everything else

I cannot believe it has been a month since I last posted! Where does the time go?? We have been keeping busy.... playing out side, KC Royals game, state fair and then everything else in between. Once announcement - Copeland PEED in the potty!!! Only once, but hey, it's a start. We were so excited we bought him a new toy :) He is just growing up soo fast. He talks and talks... he is using sentences and using more words. He repeats EVERYTHING anyone says. Just last night when we were praying before bed, he was trying to repeat what I was saying, and then when I was done he said, "mom, I pray too!" It was the sweetest thing. Beau and I are still keeping busy with school. It seems like one of us always has homework or a paper to finish. It will be so worth it when we are done though. I'm a lot closer to being done then him ;)
Well I guess I'll just let the pics tell the rest...

This is at the Missouri State Fair. We go every year but this year seemed to be the best. Copeland had the time of his life! He's such a hillbilly haha

Copeland taking Liv for a ride on his big green tractor (have I mentioned he LOVES tractors?!)

Feeding the Emu. He thought this was so funny

Riding "his" horsey mikey.

This is at a KC Royals game. Beau got to be a part of holding the flag, so we got free tickets.
It seemed like a great idea, but it was about 110 degrees.... not really a great idea. After Beau got back to us, we ate and left. There is a video at the bottom... don't know why it is way down there. Kinda out of order, but it's there.

The whole night was "Salute to Uniformed Heroes". It was really cool - made me a proud wife! :)

This is the very first time Copeland ever sat on a horse. We went to this creek at the state park close to our house and when we were leaving there were like 5 people riding horses. One of the guys let Cope sit in his horse. Cope thought he was pretty cool. That's all he talked about for two days... "mom, I ride horsey"

At the creek.

Cope has a little fish net that he was catching baby fish with. He's looking for fish here.

Daddy showing him how to catch the fish with his net

Ok, here's the video. I forget where Beau was, but he's out there.

It has been a while since I have posted and wanted to update on a few things. I have thought about writing a couple times and never really had the words or thought it wasn't interesting. Well I wanted to document a few of Copelands latest milestones.

First off, we made an unexpected trip to IN last week. We were home wed-sat. We went home to cheer up Nana... my mom's brother had recently had a stroke (he's ok now) but at the time they really didn't know if he was going to make it and two or three days later, Johnathon left for Australia. I felt like I needed to be there for my mom while going through this rough time so we packed up and went home. (She would have done the same thing for me - and actually did this past Feb)
We had fun at home. Copeland got to ride the tractor with Papa, we got to see friends and family, we ate at all of our favorite restaurants, and we just hung out!
The friday we were home, (7/24) we went to Fat Boys to get some ice cream. It was supposed to be a quick stop because we had been out at the family lake and we were sweaty and dirty, but we ended up staying longer than planeed. Well we were getting ready to leave and Copeland hit his mouth on a chair and it chipped his tooth!!! I was so upset.... It's not terrible, but it's noticable (i'll post a pic)
We have also gotten rid of Copeland's pacifier aka te'te' or tey tey (sp??) that's what he called it, and it's french so who knows :) We had been wanting to get rid of it for a while, and I even tried the first of this year, but it just wasn't working so I came up with the idea of telling him we left it in IN!! It worked!! He will ask for it a couple tims a day and I just tell him it's at Nana and Papa's in IN and he's just smiles, and he threw one fit because of it, but he has done great!! He goes to sleep fine at night and at nap... we are finally rid of that darn thing!! YAY!!!
Copeland can also, open the fridge, open the house doors, climb on the bar and turn on the sink in the kitchen, ride his bike like crazy (seriously, he's good. i'll try to get a vido), climb in his carseat himslef, turn on the water hose, likes swimming in the "big pool" ( on base there is a big pool and a baby pool) and push a bar stool to any part of the counter or cabibet to get whatever he wants... he is keep us very busy! :) I am sure there is so much more that I am forgetting, those are just a few of the crazy things he does right now.

On another note, Beau and I are both in school!!! Beau started taking classes this week too! We had to buy another computer because we are both taking online classes and we both need the computer at night. It's pretty funny to see us sitting in bed with our computers on our laps typing away lol.

And last but not least, I wanted to give a little update on my bro. He's doing great and enjoying himself. He has started a blog and you can follow his journey at johnboyd9.blogspot.com Just remember to keep him in your prayers as he is serving. He has alreaday experienced a lot in just two weeks. I'm so proud of him!!

Here are some pics, enjoy and God bless!
