wake up call

I really don't even know how to start this post - so I'm just going to jump right in.
Beau got a new job at work. He is now working in an office with only one other guy. If any of you know Beau, he is NOT an office worker!! Haha... I think it will be good for him though. He has set hours now and he can come home for lunch. He needed a break from all the physical work he has done the last 4 1/2 years. Anyway, there is a young lady who has worked in his shop as long as we have been here. I am not "good" friends with her, but we played on a women's softball team together a couple summers ago, and any work function that we attend, she's always there. Well she is now training Beau in his new office job.
About a month ago, she lost her husband due to a gun accident. She has two boys and is 9 months pregnant! No one really knows exactly what happened, just that he was messing with the gun and it went off and killed him. She is moving to a house on base and is moving right next door!! I'm so thankful she is close so I can help her out. My heart just breaks to think about being in her situation. I can't imagine what I would do if I lost Beau. It really makes me do a reality check on our lives. Sometimes I get upset with him if he doesn't do something or if he does it and it's not right. But then I think of poor Janie. She has no one to help her, no one to lay in bed with, no one to hold her and tell her things will be fine when she has a bad day, no one to kiss, and her children have no one to call daddy. As my eyes fill up with tears, my heart aches and my stomach hurts!! I strive to be more appreciative of Beau and all he does (or doesn't) do! It's hard enough being a military wife/mother and being away from your family, but she is now a single mother away from her family. Anyway, if you could just remember her and her kids in your prayers, I'm sure they need it!!
She's moving in today, so Copeland and I made dinner and cookies for her tonight. Even though Copeland doesn't understand now, I hope I can teach him about love and helping out a neighbor in a time of need.
I just want to thank Jesus for blessing my family. He has blessed me withe wonderful parents, a loving sister and brother, an exceptional husband, and a little miracle - Copeland.

Here are some pictures of Cope helping me make, and eat, the cookies!! :)

He loved the batter!! I normally don't let him eat stuff like this, but once in a while it's fun!!

KC Zoo

Copeland's first trip to the Zoo!!!
We went to the Kansas City Zoo today. We had so much fun. Copeland loved all the animals. He did sooo good too. I couldn't believe it. He just loves being outside. We got some really good pics before Cope fell asleep. Poor baby was falling asleep while Beau was holding him and before we could even eat lunch! He slept for about an hour then ate and was ready to go again. We were so blessed to have great weather. That made the day so much more enjoyable.
After we went to the zoo, we stopped in at Bass Pro. Beau can't go past there without stopping. I forgot to take the camera in there so we don't have any pics from that. But here are a few pics from the zoo!
Oh ya, we are getting a new puppy!! Copeland LOVES dogs, and even though we already have two, they are not living with us. We have a silky terrier - which is very jealous of Cope and nips at him so he is with my parents, and we have a beautiful husky who is with Beau's parents right now. She digs and since we live on base and have to replace the yards before we move out, Beau doesn't want her here right now. So... we are getting a dog that can be here. It's a goldendoodle!! He will be inside with us. We get him next month!! We are crazy I know!! :)

Here is a picture of Cope in the tub. He loves his baths... I love his eyes in this photo!

Cope does this thing when you say "show me your teeth" he does this fake little smile and shows his teeth.

Untill next time :)
