wake up call

I really don't even know how to start this post - so I'm just going to jump right in.
Beau got a new job at work. He is now working in an office with only one other guy. If any of you know Beau, he is NOT an office worker!! Haha... I think it will be good for him though. He has set hours now and he can come home for lunch. He needed a break from all the physical work he has done the last 4 1/2 years. Anyway, there is a young lady who has worked in his shop as long as we have been here. I am not "good" friends with her, but we played on a women's softball team together a couple summers ago, and any work function that we attend, she's always there. Well she is now training Beau in his new office job.
About a month ago, she lost her husband due to a gun accident. She has two boys and is 9 months pregnant! No one really knows exactly what happened, just that he was messing with the gun and it went off and killed him. She is moving to a house on base and is moving right next door!! I'm so thankful she is close so I can help her out. My heart just breaks to think about being in her situation. I can't imagine what I would do if I lost Beau. It really makes me do a reality check on our lives. Sometimes I get upset with him if he doesn't do something or if he does it and it's not right. But then I think of poor Janie. She has no one to help her, no one to lay in bed with, no one to hold her and tell her things will be fine when she has a bad day, no one to kiss, and her children have no one to call daddy. As my eyes fill up with tears, my heart aches and my stomach hurts!! I strive to be more appreciative of Beau and all he does (or doesn't) do! It's hard enough being a military wife/mother and being away from your family, but she is now a single mother away from her family. Anyway, if you could just remember her and her kids in your prayers, I'm sure they need it!!
She's moving in today, so Copeland and I made dinner and cookies for her tonight. Even though Copeland doesn't understand now, I hope I can teach him about love and helping out a neighbor in a time of need.
I just want to thank Jesus for blessing my family. He has blessed me withe wonderful parents, a loving sister and brother, an exceptional husband, and a little miracle - Copeland.

Here are some pictures of Cope helping me make, and eat, the cookies!! :)

He loved the batter!! I normally don't let him eat stuff like this, but once in a while it's fun!!

Wow- that gave me cold chills... I know I tend to take Ryan for granted at times and I think we all need reminders not to do so... Leah Robinson is posting on her blog about the new bible study she and some other girls are doing... I'm not able to go to the study b/c of a conflict, but she does a great job of posting. The jist of the book they are studying is about men and how to build them up and be a better wife, hleping you to understand your husband better... It's had some really helpful things in it :) Just thought you might want to check it out :)

Ali, I didn't realize you had a blog..I will add you to my Blog List today!! I will be posting every week about the current Bible Study session!! Keep reading...I know they're long, but very helpful :) I'll be praying for your neighbor!! How horrible that must be! It really makes you stop to think, maybe I shouldn't gripe about the small things Joe does "wrong"...but thank God for the love he gives me!

Hey Alison! It's Lacy (Fisher) Jeffers. I ran across your blog through Mandy's. I will be praying for your friend and her children. How sad? If it's okay with you I'd like to add you to my blog list.
