First, I just want to say happy mother's day to all you mommies!!
Beau has done a great job making this day special (it's only 8:30) but copeland brought me my card and beau brought me a cup of coffee and we have a wonderful day ahead of us. We are going to church, then to eat, then to walmart to get my gift (i've wanted 8 lb. weights forever so he's getting me some). Then tonight we are having friends Tyler and Kerri and their little girl Livi over for homemade pizza tonight.

Yesterday was a good day but a hard day. It was 3 months ago yesterday that I miscarried. Although yesterday was the 3 month mark, friday was a really rough day! I don't know why it was so hard for me but I broke down. I guess because I thought I would be pregnant by now and I'm not. So to help keep my mind off things yesterday, we went to Nebraska Furniture mart in Kansas City, Kansas... yes we drove to Kansas. It's only about and hour and a half from here. We bought a new dining table!!! It was such a great deal we couldn't pass it up. It will be here next Sat. so I'll get pics as soon as I can!! Then we went to Cabela's (beau's fave!) and walked around and looked at all the animals and ate lunch in the cafe there. By the time we got home it was about 3 so we played outside all afternoon and then I went for a walk while Beau gave Cope a bath. I just cranked up my praise music and prayed for peace and patience!! I know everything will work out. I just have to remind myself daily to be still and know that HE is God and HE is in control!!! (it's a little easier said than done though).
Anyway, we have a busy week ahead of us... we are getting ready for a yardsale, Copeland's party, my mom and brother are coming out, and then Cope and I are coming home with them! I can't wait!!
Here are a few pics of his "big boy" things!
Have a great week!!

Bedtime Update....

NOT GOING SO WELL!! It is 1 day shy of a week that we have been struggling with Copey and his bedtime. Tonight has been the best night in the last week... and it still wasn't easy. To make a very long story short, Copeland was still in a crib, and friday night we knew we had to get him out of that crib and into a toddler bed! We had a really rough night friday night and saturday night.

Friday - normal bedtime routine.... except I sat by his bedside for an hour and 45 min. Finally I told him I was going to my bed and he was to stay in his crib. I left, shut the door with him screaming and I hadn't been in my room for 5 min. and we could tell the crying was getting louder... he was standing at his door. So we go in there, calm him down, put him back in his crib and and I shut the door but left a little crack so I could peek in on him. What I saw was a shocker. He basically falls out of his crib! He gets one leg over and then just rolls!! At that moment, my heart quit beating. As I see my little baby plop on the floor I run in there and ask if he's ok. So we decided that night that he would sleep with us and we would immediately convert his crib into a bed. No more climbing/falling out of his crib!

Saturday-(I'm not doing very well keeping this short, oops) ok, so we convert his bed and that night I sat in there with him for an hour before he finally fell asleep. Well around 1:00 we wake up to screaming. Beau gets up and goes in there to calm him down and sit with him. After about 45 min. he's asleep - or so we thought. About 15 min after Beau comes back to bed we hear little feet running into our room. So I go back in there and sit with him for another hour and the little stinker is still not asleep!!! Finally I talk to him and tell him that there is nothing to be afraid of and that Jesus is with him and to just talk to Jesus. He starts asking where Oliver is at. OLIVER- why hadn't I thought of him before!? So I put Oliver in his room with him and it worked! For a little anyway (by this time it was almost 3:30). Cope stayed in his bed and slept till 7!! I have been praying and praying - I really don't know what else to do, and while I was laying in bed last night, I felt that God was telling me to "be patient, be consistent". I just kept saying that over and over in my head. I think the Lord is trying to work on me and teach me patience.

So tonight, Beau put him in his bed, I read him a book and prayed with him, held his hand for about 5 min, talked to him to keep him calm (he started to get a little worked up) and brought in OLIVER. So far so good. It has been 45 min. and he hasn't made a peep or came out of his room. PTL!! I just hope this continue to work.
I hope this story isn't to boring or crazy.... I not only wanted to give an update, but record it for my own memories sake.
I'll keep you all updated and try to get pics soon of him in his bed. He loves it during the day! :)
I love him so much my heart just swells! When I think about him, I can't help but smile. Even though I get frustrated, my love for him is unconditional. (I think God is also saying "sound familiar?")

Bedtime is a Battle

I'm happy to say that I am officially done with classes..... for two weeks. Then I start right back in again!! Ugh, I feel like I will never get finished! I have to brag on myself a little bit though (and I hate bragging) but I ended both classes with a 97%!!! I couldn't believe it! I was so proud of myself - as you can tell :) It is my goal now to get an A in every class. We'll see how that goes though!
In reference to my title of this post, the last two nights have been terrible for Copeland at bedtime. He has always done GREAT with bedtime. We had our little routine, read a book, brush teeth, turn on music, pray, and then I would just lay him down. Piece of cake. Not these last two nights... I don't know what the heck is going on. Last night he actually slept with us in our bed because he would cried and cried both times we tried to lay him down. He would just keep saying "hold it, hold it" which is what he says when he wants us to hold him. He acts scared. It did storm yesterday and the thunder was pretty bad, and that is the only thing I can think of that would be bothering him, but today was beautiful and I would have thought he would have forgotten about it by now. Tonight he actually laid down, but I held his hand through his crib for almost a half hour. Is this normal??? After months and months of going to bed on his own?? I know it has only been two nights, but I just don't know what to do. Hopefully it won't last long! I mean I will do anything for that little booger, but I really want to stick to our normal bedtime routine.
Anyway, just say a little prayer for us if you think about it! :)
Hope everyone is having a good week.
Today after Beau got home from work, I went for a walk  - by myself! Usually I take Copeland but it was kinda nice to just listen to my music and get some me time. I was listening to Natalie Grant and she has a song called Wonderful Life. Part of the chorus is "Everything's alright...it's a perfect day to be alive.... cause it's a wonderful life right now". I thought, how true this is. Although I have heartache, today is a great day to be alive! I want to know everything is alright and I want to feel alive! I haven't really felt this way the past few months. But I'm going to start!! Everyday is a great day to be alive.
I'm thankful for each day God allows me to be alive!!

Back to Reality :(

We are home from FL. Things have been crazy busy ever since! Unpacking, laundry, getting groceries (we had nothing), school, and just trying to get back in our own routine!! We had a great time though, and we hated to come home :) We went to the Miami Seaquarium, the beach, a water park, did a little shopping, went to south beach, and just hung out with my sister Alicia and her hubby. Copeland did great - except one night - he woke up throwing up... and did off and of for about 3 hours. The next morning he was fine though and was begging to go play! Then he got a cold and was pretty out of if one day... but that didn't seem to slow him down. We loaded him up with Tylenol and hit the beach! The first day we were at the beach he kept saying mama snow... snow.. and I kept telling him it was sand, cute little guy :) They are so funny at this age. By the end of our trip Copeland was saying "home?" "bye bye?" I think he was ready to get home, but I'm pretty sure he enjoyed his aunite she-she and uncle matt (with the t's being silent!) Every morning since we have been home he has been asking for them.
Here are some pics.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
(there are quite a few pics, sorry. this is not even half of them!!)

This is the day Copey didn't feel very well from his cold... you can kinda see snot on his nose haha

I have thought about writing several times and just didn't really have anything to say. We haven't really done a whole lot lately. The weather has been cold or rainy, so we have just been stuck inside a lot! We went out to play for a little bit yesterday, but the wind was so bad we didn't last long. The day before we went shopping all day!! It was exhausting but fun. Beau's best friend Zane was here for a few days. He stopped in on his way to Cali. We love having company, and Beau enjoyed seeing his buddy.
We are heading to FL next week and we are soo ready for that warm  sunshine!! Alicia, my sister, lives down there and we will be staying with her and her husband for a week. Can't wait! I should have lots of pics to post after that! :) I've kinda slacked on the pics lately.
We are starting to plan for Copeland's 2nd birthday! (it's not till next month, but i get excited haha)  I cannot believe he is going to be 2. Where did the time go??? He is a crazy, all boy, boy... and we love every second of it! His new thing right now is to take all the couch cushions off and jump on the couch! I shouldn't let  him but it keeps him entertained while stuck inside and it's pretty funny too! We are hoping to get hia trampoline for his bday. Well this post is kind of all over the place, so I'll wrap it up. I have lots of projects and school work to get done before our vacation, so I'll post when we get back.
God Bless!! :)

It's been a while...

I didn't realize how long it had been since I had posted! We have been busy I guess.  I feel overloaded with school right now, and the last few days we have spent hours outside! It's wonderful and I love it. Today we were out for about 3 hours and two days ago we were out for about 2 hours and even got a little sun!! Being outside is just refreshing right now. I haven't posted since I got the call from the doctor -  like about two weeks ago- but all levels are back at 0, but we haven't decided if we are ready to start trying again. We were kinda thinking to wait till after I had at least 1 menstrual cycle, and that has not happened yet!!! It is so hard for us to just sit here and wait. We are praying about it so hopefully we will feel peace about it soon. I feel kinda like I have a rain cloud that follows me around sometimes. But like I said, getting out of the house and playing outside with Copeland and all the neighbor kids really helps keeps my mind of things. We have a lot of fun out there. Cope loves to go down the slide and swing. He has also discovered sidewalk chalk!! He is so darn cute!! I do not want to sound negative, because I have a ton to be thankful for, and I do thank the Lord everyday for all He has blessed us with.
God Bess!! :)
